About the Area

Lakeland is located off Interstate 4 in between Tampa and Orlando.  It is conveniently located within about an hour of Disney and the other major theme parks as well as both the east and west coast beaches. The population is just shy of 100,000.

Lakeland is home to Publix Super Markets and GEICO's regional office as well as being a suburb of both the Tampa and Orlando metropolitan areas.  Winter Haven, adjacent to Lakeland, is home to LegoLand and also houses the State Farm regional offices.  Polk County is a world-leader in citrus and phosphate production. Lakeland has a diversified economy with a role for just about everyone.

Lakeland is also home to major medical facilities including The Watson Clinic and Lakeland Regional Medical Center.  It is also only miles away from other world-renowned facilities such as Moffitt Cancer Center and All Children's in Tampa as well as Winnie Palmer and Nemours in Orlando.

Lakeland has just recently broken ground on the new USF Polytechnic campus located on the east side of town near Interstate 4.  This is the first Polytechnic school in the state and will be offering a broad range of majors for today's tech savvy young adults.

Lakeland offers a variety of arts & cultural opportunities including museums, theatres and public art displays. Lakeland is proud to boast the Nation’s largest single-campus collection of Frank Lloyd Wright Architecture at Florida Southern College on beautiful Lake Hollingsworth.
